Movie stars, they’re just like us, ordinary people trying to get by in the world working a 9 to 5 job. Only their job is full of glitz, glamour, and big budget special effects. If there is any relatability to the seemingly god like Hollywood megastars is that they occasionally share the same taste in music as their audience. In this week’s blog, popular movie stars and their favorite artists will be examined. Maybe, just maybe you will feel like you can be one of them.

Owen Wilson- Favorite Band: The Rolling Stones

Owen Wilson was recently on The Late Late Show with James Corden where he announced he was at a Rolling Stones show in Argentina. He was friendly with some of the band, so much so, that they gave the actor a Lifetime Pass to their shows. He recanted how the first ever show he had seen was the Stones, and that with the Pass he was able to get backstage. He ended up near Mick Jagger on the stage, with where he was being part of the shows stage production. Jagger nearly sprinted into him, resulting in a call from the security team about the Pass. He then had to give it back to them following the incident.

Margot Robbie- Favorite Band: Slipknot

One of the most beautiful actresses of our time likes a band that makes truly ugly, visceral and real music. When on Jimmy Fallon, Robbie surprisingly revealed that she had gone through a metal phase when growing up in Australia.  She went to a Slipknot show and said it was her favorite concert she had ever attended.

He even goes as far as to have a side band in Tenacious D. For School of Rock he cold called the members of Led zeppelin, who are particular about their use of songs in films. Black eventually got their permission to use “Immigrant Song” in the film.
